November ~ a month to remember
4th of February, 2021
This month we have been delighted to welcome a very special guest to Charlotte House! This VIP was very friendly and happily posed for photos. He wasn't fazed by all the attention in fact he lapped it up!
Everyone is very much looking forward to his next visit. We hope that it will be a regular occurrence!
A dog is certainly man's best friend ~ woman's too. At this time of year it's always good to remember that a dog is for life and not just for Christmas.
We also need to make sure that animals are warm, safe and well-fed, especially as winter draws in.
Some of the Residents from Victoria House went to Blackpool Illuminations. On the way they called at Charlotte House for a cuppa and a chat. It was great to see them.
Sue very kindly sent us some photos from when the guys went for fish & chips. Everyone had a wonderful time.
Did you know that the illuminations were switched on for the very first time on 19th September 1879?
November 2018 marks the Centenary of the end of The Great War. Across the country people of all walks of life came together to remember the fallen.
Delta Care was proud to support the work of The Royal British Legion by sponsoring the free brochure that was handed out at the Guild Hall on Saturday 10th November 2018.

Preston is such an amazing place to live and work. The city looks stunning at night. This photo shows the Harris Library and Museum. Did you know that it was officially opened in 1893?
During the Remembrance Concert at the Guild Hall, there were many tributes and poignant reminders of the sacrifices made during The Great War. It was an amazing night to be a part of. The evening was called "Lancashire Remembers." And we certainly did.
On Friday 14th December, Charlotte House will be hosting a Fundraiser for Joseph's Goal.
Joseph Kendrick is nine years old and has NKH, (Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia), a very rare life-limiting genetic disorder that severely affects his development.
Joseph's Goal is a charity set up to increase awareness of NKH and to raise funds for research.
We are delighted to say that the school children from St Augustine's will be singing at this event. Come along wearing your Christmas jumper and make a donation.
Have some refreshments, a go on the tombola, guess the name of the elf, try your luck with the raffle, then…sit back and relax. You can join in with the children. We will be here from 2 - 3 pm. Hope you will too.
As promised, the Charlotte House notice board was updated with all the events from October. And what a lot of activity there had been. The photos replicate the Newsletter, which is displayed on the notice board too, along with forthcoming events. Wow! December is going to be a very busy month. Bring on Christmas!
